Podcasts
I host a podcast called Too Lazy to Read the Paper. The premise is that papers are formal in a way that often hides the actual ideas, and that an informal conversation between two people usually gets the point across faster. Each episode is one author — sometimes a co-author pair — explaining their recent paper in network science or data science to me. We start with backstory (who the guest is, where the idea came from), walk through the research itself, and end by gossiping about peer review. The intended audience is PhD students, postdocs, and other working scientists.
Listen on Buzzsprout or Apple Podcasts. The two season trailers live on the Videos page under Fun — Season 1 (2021) is the one I worked unreasonably hard on the jokes for; Season 2 (2022) is the one with the ukulele.
2026 — the comeback
After a long quiet spell, the show is back with a new format and a slightly longer name: Too Lazy to Figure Out How to Use Claude Code for Science. No paper this time — just a conversation about agentic coding for working scientists.
